WELCOME TO ZINNHOUSE
Religious Education for an Interspiritual Age
I help parents and religion teachers integrate 3 Keys for raising kids with spirituality in a World-Centric culture. I use Judaism as a model but my vision is for others to apply their own traditions. The 3 Keys are:
• Home Religion (Yours)
• Traveler’s Vision (Interfaith)
• Philosopher’s Mission (Truth)
Article on ZinnHouse
My speciality is integrative-design. I bring out aspects of a Home Religion and make it better by including interfaith and inquiry. I don’t just talk about it, I give you tools to do it yourself. My products are compatible with all religious, interfaith, & secular education. My model incorporates the best of traditional, modern, and postmodern world views. As Huston Smith said, religion matters.
My 20 years of experience meeting the needs of children of unaffiliated and/or interfaith families lets me help you Grow People. I’ll give you easy-to-use ideas that instill purpose, expand belonging, and develop minds. Ready?
ABOUT
Lauren Zinn, PHD interdisciplinary educational planning, MA philosophy, REV seminary-ordained interfaith minister, helps spiritually independent families and youth see religion as a resource for developing personal growth and tapping perennial wisdom for success in a global culture. My method for reimagining religious education stems from 20 years experience with
• Regenerating Religion • Curating Interfaith • Liberating Spirit • Circulating Wisdom
My STORY. (1) I grew up in a religiously conservative and politically liberal Jewish home; then fell in love with and married a “non-Jew”. (2) Searching for spiritual sustenance, I found it in a sect of Hinduism. (3) After a vivid dream of Torah, I created Jewbilation: Jewish Roots with Interfaith Wings and became an ordained-leader of a full-service, spiritually-independent collection of interfaith families. (4) Applying my background in philosophy for children, instructional design, and jewish and interfaith education, I developed “The TEN Advancements” (or Value TENsions) for rethinking religious education.
